Linnémarschen 2010 offers an
variety of walking experiences with six different routes, each one
with its own character. The purpose is to give as many as possible
an opportunity to participate.
On Saturday, you can join the super-challenging Marathon
Walk 42 km and the new 21 km Kype-Ymer route. On Sunday there are
two strenuous routes: the 21 km and 14 km Rya Åsar, the easier 9 km
Viskan River Walk and an exciting 5 km Adventure Walk for
families.
SATURDAY 8 MAY
42 KM MARATHON WALK
Start at 9 A.M. - Walking time: About 7 - 10
hours
The Linnémarschen Marathon Walk 42 km
is a real accomplishment for those who are prepared and want some
exercise and experience above and beyond the usual. The route runs
along beautiful trails and road, counter-clockwise, around
Borås,with an exotic start throughthe Borås Zoo. You'll pass many
favourite spots, such as Svarttjärn and the new Älmås nature
reserve.

21 KM
KYPE-YMER
Start 9 A.M. - Walking time: About 3.5 -
4.5 hours
The new Linnémarschen 21 km Kype-Ymer
follows the Marathon Walk route through the Borås Zoo and
Kypeskogen Forest up to Ymergården, about at the 9 km mark.
Afterwards, the route turns back, mostly proceeding downhill gently
along varied forest pathes and road in the Kype area. The last part
includes an incredible view from Tokarpsberg Hill, before the
descent to the finish line at the Borås Arena.
Many Saturday walkers will no doubt
take part on Sunday, as well.

SUNDAY 9 MAY
21 KM RYA ÅSAR
Start at 10 A.M. - Walking time: About 3.5 - 4.5
hours
Sunday's 21 km Rya Åsar is a challenge
for those who are well prepared and want to get in some real
exerices. The route is very hilly at the beginning, so it may be a
good idea to start slowly. When you get up, you'll enjoy the
rewards at the Hestra Klint outlook, after which things will get
easier.
14 KM RYA ÅSAR
Start at 11 A.M. - Walking time: About 2.5 - 3
hours
This 14-km route of medium difficulty
follows the long 21 km route for a long distance, especially at the
beginning. This part can be pretty demanding. After about 10 km,
the routes divide, with this one continuing mostly downhill to the
finish line.
9 KM VISKAN RIVER
WALK
Start 11 A.M. - Walking time: About 1.5 - 2
hours
This short 9 km route is more level,
and follows beautiful trails along the banks of the Viskan River to
the new footbridge at Almenäs. The route then goes up through the
forest, and follows the scree under Ryda Klint hill to the
picturesque Ramshulan cottage.
5 KM ADVENTURE
WALK
Start at 10 A.M. - noon, groupwise/families - Walking
time: About 2 - 3 hours
This adventure walk is an exciting
activity for the entire family. The route is perfect for families
with younger walkers who want to experience the woods. With a
little effort, you can push a pram or sulky on this route. You can
find additional information on the reverse of this folder.
Naturally, the route is open to other walkers, and you don't have
to stop at the adventure stops.
