Invitation to Linnémarschen

- a walk in beautiful scenery

On the weekend of 28-29 April, Hestra IF and IK Ymer will welcome you to the 36th Linnémarschen, a walk in the beautiful Rya Åsar nature reserve, visited by Carl von Linné (Linneaus) back in 1746.

Start and finish are at the Borås Arena, just a stone´s throw from the Rya Åsar nature reserve.

Saturday 28th April

42 km Marathon Walk - starts at 9 A.M.

21 km Kype-Ymer - starts at 9 A.M.

10,5 km Kype - starts at 9 A.M.

5 km Adventure Walk - start between 10 A.M. - noon, groupwise/families.

Sunday 29th April

21 km Rya Åsar - starts at 10 A.M.

14 km Rya Åsar - starts at 11 A.M.

10,5 km Viskan River Walk - starts at 11 A.M.

5 km Adventure Walk - start between 10 A.M. - noon, groupwise/families.

Entry Fees

- Marathon Walk (all ages) = 360 SEK

Other courses:

- Adults (born 1992 or earlier) = 180 SEK

- Children/ Youth (born 1993 - 2001) = 140 SEK

- Children (born 2002 or later) = 0 SEK

- Family package 1 (not Marathon Walk):
1 adult (born 1992 or earlier) + more than 1 children/ youth between 8 - 16 years old = 340 SEK

- Family package 2 (not Marathon Walk):
2 adult (born 1992 or earlier) + more than 1 children/ youth (born 1992 - 2000) = 500 SEK

INSTANT ENTRY at Sunday 8 May (Only 5 km Adventure Walk)

On-site entry is possible at Sunday 8 May from 08.30 AM to start.

- Children/ Youth (born 1993 - 2001) = 140 SEK

- Children (born 2002 or later) = 0 SEK

- Family package 1 (not Marathon Walk):

- Family package 2 (not Marathon Walk):
2 adult (born 1992 or earlier) + more than 1 children/ youth (born 1993 - 2001) = 570 SEK

Entry/Paying

Please, do your entry at our website www.linnemarschen.com and pay with creditcard.

The payment will be done to Hestra IF before Friday 20 April 2012. The entry fee includes refreshments along the routes, and a "Linné" -medallion.

Parking

Parking in the vicinity of Borås Arena. Sign posts from the roundabout in Knalleland and also from Getängsvägen/Ålgårdsbron.

Change/Showers

You can shower and change clothes within Borås Arena.

Toilets

There is toilets at the start and finish area at Borås Arena

Saturday 28th April (Marathon Walk): Kypegården, Ymergården, Kransmossen, Transåssjön, Osdal, Ramnaparken

Sunday 29th April: Hestrastugan, Hästhagen and Björbostugan.

Walking Sticks/Nordic Walking

You are free to use walking sticks.

Refreshments

After the finish you can just relax and enjoy. You can buy hamburgers, sandwiches coffee, etc. There are lotteries where you can win flowers and other things.

10,5 km Viskan (River Walk) - 2 stations

5 km Adventure Walk - 1 stations

Signs

Along the courses there are several information signs for culturel och botaniska interesting points in the nature reservat of Rya Åsar. The courses are marked up with plastic bands.

View Points

Saturday: Marathon Walk passes Hårsåsen with a sight of several miles and 21 km passes Hökåsen "Hawkhill" with 360 degrees view and also Tokarpsberg with a view over the city and the finish area, Borås Arena.

Sunday: The black and red courses are passing the beautiful viewing point Hestra klint with a fantastic view over the valley of the river Viskan and the city of Borås.

Walking Classics

Linnémarschen is one of the largest walking events in the North and are a member of the Swedish "Folksport" Association Walking Classics and in the nordic "Marschbukett". Stamps/registry and walkingpassports in the area of start and finish.

Candidate for IML Walking Association

Linnémarschen has applied as a candidate of membership of the international walking organization IML. The goal is to be a full value member 2012 and the decision is taken in Barcelona october 2011.
